New York Times Blogger!
Hi Everyone, I am excited to announce that I will be writing for a New York Times education blog this month! More details and a link to come when the blog launches next week. The focus will be on back-to-school time and "learning to teach in a complicated world."

I am thrilled by this news. Please tell us how it all came about. Did The Times contact you?
I know I am looking fwd to reading your blog.
btw, I was wondering if you could tell us what you thought about Baby Trig being at the convention?
I have been reading political blogs that say Down Syndrome children shouldn't be subjected to loud noises and lights. While I am no fan of Palin's, I was just curious because all nominees bring their family the night of their speech.
Hi School Gal,
The NY Times editor contacted me through this Mad Tedious blog! There will be 5 or so teachers blogging about back-to-school, etc. I will be writing a lot about autism. I will post more details tomorrow!
I am not an expert on Down Syndrome, so I can't really comment on that professionally. Personally, I think it's better that she brought him than not. (Doesn't mean I support her.) - Miss D
